@mekanugget have you tried with a new save? and take your mods folder out, then delete the localthumbcache? Does your game load past the plumbob on your loading screen by doing this? If yes, if could be your mods.
I have already deleted my mods and CC but it is still not loading past the plumbob page. I am trying to take out localthumbcache now.
@mekanugget Ok, let me know how this goes.
@TGamez1 I still don't think it is working ☹️
@mekanugget Have you tried this one? Refresh Game Folders
1. Rename your /Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder The Sims 4 OLD
- This will automatically backup all your stuff - the CC, the saves, the tray.
- Your stuff will sit in this folder and wait for your new games folder to get ready for it.
2. Do a game repair.
In Origin, click on the Settings wheel to the right of the Start Button for Sims 4 and pick "Repair".
3. Start the game. The game will now create a new fresh /The Sims 4 folder.@TGamez1 I am halfway through the steps I just have one question. What will happen to all of my old saves? Will I get them back? Thank you so much for helping me I really appreciate it.
@mekanugget Yes, this will back up all your stuff in the game.
@TGamez1 ok thank you I will restart and I might go to bed soon so if I do I will check in with you tomorrow. I have to restart to quit the app because it is stuck in the loading screen and it won't let me quit.
@mekanugget To quit the game or app just press ctrl + alt + delete choose task manager, then a pop up will appear on the screen, choose which app you want to close, it will end the task.
@mekanugget To force-close an application that's not responding, click cmd-optn-esc, which brings up the Force Quit menu, select the application, and click the Force Quit button.
I've moved your thread to the Mac section for better Mac-specific help.
@TGamez1 Crtl-alt-del is not applicable to macOS, and the Task Manager doesn't exist.
@puzzlezaddict Oooops, sorry about that. I will remember it doesnt work on MAC. Thanks!
- @TGamez1 I loaded my game into the home page today and I couldn't find any of the saves that I have been playing with. I am not sure to do from here and I am a bit confused.
- @TGamez1 Renaming it then taking everything out and placing it in the new folder worked! Thank you so much for the tech support!
@mekanugget Thats great news, im happy it worked ok for you. And your welcome!
(Yeah, on the new sims 4 folder it generated, you needed to test that first. Then move
your save folder into it)
