Disabling did not work for me.

Why would I create an entire new profile?  Even if that allows me to play it; how does that fix the solution of playing Sims in my current profile?

You don't have to create a new account on your Mac but it's a common troubleshooting suggestion which sometimes solves the problem. You may have processes running or apps running in the background which you are not aware of which may be causing the issue or conflicting. This is a quick and easy way to see if you can play.

Creating a new user account builds a new Library folder for the new account so any issues in your Library folder like corrupted files won't be present.

Of course, you don't have to do this but you asked for help. Have you read the Sims 4 Mac help thread for further troubleshooting tips? https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M161
