Re: Sims 4 is extremely laggy on my mac

@maggiepfaff95

Your Mac falls way below the minimum system requirements for the game unfortunately:

  • Minimum OS – Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5)
  • CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz or better
  • RAM – At least 4Gb RAM
  • Hard Drive – At least 10Gb of free space with at least 1Gb additional space for custom content
  • Video – NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or better. Video RAM (VRAM) of 256 MB or better
  • Input – Keyboard and Mouse
  • Online Requirements: Internet Connection required for product activation

How you've managed to get it to run at all is nothing short of miraculous ☹️

It ran for over a year with absolutely no issues though

So what have you added to your game before it stopped working. A new game pack? Mods? CC? Have you perhaps run out of space on your hard drive and your Mac is sluggish?

The bottom line though is that your Mac falls below the minimum requirements. As you add more to your game the lag will only get worse.

Would an iMac 21.5 inch, late 2012
    Processor: 2.9GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 8 GB MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

Is this computer compatible with Sims 4?

Hi, Would a MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012 work with these?:

Processor: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

    Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6

I have A LOT of CC, but CAS works fine (except detail edit mode cause it's laggy) and gameplay is SUPER laggy, and it takes like 3 seconds to enter or be removed from the queue. Manage worlds isn't laggy either... How do I get a better graphics card? Some people tell me I need to go on the Intel website and upgrade it, or I should buy one and manually put it in my Mac?

You cannot upgrade the graphics chip in your Mac. If you want a more powerful graphics card you need to buy a Mac with dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics.
