Retina Display changes screen resolution
I'm playing The Sims 4 on a 2021 MacBook Pro. I'm running macOS Sequoia (Version 15.2) and the newest version (1.112.481.1230) of The Sims 4. I have all but 2 expansions, all game packs, most stuff packs, and a few kits, but I don't imagine any of that is relevant.
So, recently I discovered I could increase the resolution on my Mac. I've bumped it up to the highest it can be, 3024 x 1964 (it was previously 1800 x 1169), and I love it. The only issue I have is that the in-game Retina Display option no longer works in The Sims 4. When I try to play the game with Retina Display enabled now, it drops my screen resolution – both in-game and out-of-game – to 1920 x 1200 (though the UI still says it's at 3024 x1964 until I deactivate the Retina Display option again). I can play the game in 3024 x 1964 resolution with Retina Display disabled, but the game doesn't look as good as it used to, which is disappointing.
I did find an older thread about this, but then it got merged with a different issue and so I thought it might be best to start a new one. If not, I know the powers that be can merge them anyway lol. That thread also had no other solutions than just disabling the option, but that's not really a fix, and at the very least I'm hoping maybe there's some info on if it's a bug that's being worked on. I don't think it's an issue with Mac itself, as increasing my resolution didn't impact my graphics for any other game or any part of my laptop at all.
