Sorry about the image but this is what it comes up with I also can’t enter the new world or creat cats or dogs and when creating a sim it just duplicates the one premade
Is says the game has failed to load. Error code : 132:33c440:27a96409. It is recommended that you relaunch the game.

Could you go into Documents > Electronic Arts and move the Sims 4 folder to the desktop then try to launch the game. Do you still get the error message?
My Mac is a MacBook Air and has maci0s Catalina I have already done this as when I updated my Mac not long ago I could not access sims 4 base game at all and found this solution and it worked.
