Sims 4 crashing and freezing

I downloaded sims 4 for the first time onto my 2017 15-inch MacBook Pro, and have tried to open it many times and every time it shuts down my computer, or it freezes my screen entirely and I have to shut it down manually. I downloaded legacy edition to see if that would help and it did not. I've seen people suggesting to turn down the graphics of the game, but I don't know how to do that without being able to open the game. please help!!!

Can you please update your OS, High Sierra to 10.13.6 and see if that fixes the issue. You can do this by clicking on the Apple then About This Mac then Software Update in the window that pops up.

I've split your post out of the thread you posted in as you do not have a 16" MacBook Pro and the thread is very specific to that model Mac.

processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
memory: 16 GB 21333 MHz LPDDR3
graphics: Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB
I have already tried repairing the game in origin and I have no mods. thank you for your help!
