sims 4 get to work and parenthood are stuck on finalizing

a few days ago my sims 4 get to work expansion stopped working so i saved and exited the same hoping that would solve it, and of course it didn't. so then i noticed it was finalizing, this has happened before and usually it just went away on its own, but this time it didnt. i started to look things up and some things said to restart origin/log out, so i did both and it caused most if not all of my packs to started redownloading, even though i never uninstalled them?? i waited for the first round to finish downloading and then tried to play the game, and get to work was still broken. (btw at this point i had tried repairing the game and updating it, neither of which worked) anyways so i closed origin and signed out again, then it redownloaded the remaining packs it hadnt in the first one. now get to work and parenthood are stuck on finalizing, neither of which work in the game along with cats and dogs and few others not working in the game as well. in origin it also says that vampires and cats and dogs are not downloaded. basically when i go into the game i can see brindleton bay and windenburg in my worlds but they are not accessible. please help i've swear i literally tried everything and the game is not even playable anymore.

What happens if you try and launch the game from within your Applications folder rather than through Origin? Does it load and if so are the pack contents showing?

Ok, let's do a search for it. Please Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal) and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

    find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null

It won't 🙂 Doing the search I posted in Terminal would have found the location of it without the need to uninstall everything.
