sims 4 mac suddenly started crashing on launch

hi, been having a blast with sims lately but today when i tried lauching, the icon popped up in the dock for a few seconds and then dissapeared, no crash dialog
of course i tried a fresh install, no mods, moved folders to the desktop n stuff, nothing helped
