@bearhugs808 So when this issue occurs the best way to solve it is by following the steps below.
- Open your control panel, you can do so by searching in start menu or by pressing Windows+R and then entering control panel
- Open Internet options
- Click on the connections tab and then in the bottom of the window click LAN SETTINGS
- Make sure that you uncheck 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' and hit apply
- Exit out of Origin and then restart your system
If the above doesn't work and you still have issues just post to let me know and we will take it from there.

Hi! Thank you so much for your help, but I tried it and nothing changed. I turned off all the proxies on my computer and saved it and restarted origin and it sadly is staying the same. If you have any other useful tips that would be awesome!
Thank you!
PS- This is for a MacBook Air

A Macbook is a Mac. Did you try the suggestions on the first page?
- In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents.
- Navigate to Contents > Mac OS.
- Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place. If there is another file in the folder, The Sims 4.par, leave it alone.
- Now open Origin, click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click on Download.

Hi. I've also encountered this issue. I've gone as far as making a new user on my Mac to see if it would work. I've tried cleaning most of my files since I thought it was a problem with my storage, but it's been stuck on "Verifying Game Files" for around 3 months. I've also tried to uninstall both Origin and Sims, but it hasn't worked. I just want to play this game again.
