I bought the game june 2016 and I've never been able to open it, since origin keeps telling me that "the sims 4 is already running" with the errorcode:

I've already tried reinstalling origin and resetting it. I've checked my task manager and it is not running. I've gotten a new macbook (the touchbar one) and it still tells me that the sims 4 is already running. Help me, please

ALREADY RUNNING SIMS 4 SOLVED
I've had the sims since 2017 and I recently started playing more often now. Ever since I started playing in 2019 I haven't been running the sims through Origin, and I've gotten the ''already running'' on my Mac. Launching The Sims 4 app itself by clicking it is im pretty sure what caused it to make the already running show up (from my experience). What you need to do is click Origin and play the sims through there I've been doing that and noticing that I don't get the error code anymore. Make sure your Origin is always up to date as well.
