I bought the game june 2016 and I've never been able to open it, since origin keeps telling me that "the sims 4 is already running" with the errorcode:
[ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]
I've already tried reinstalling origin and resetting it. I've checked my task manager and it is not running. I've gotten a new macbook (the touchbar one) and it still tells me that the sims 4 is already running. Help me, please

Hi there,
I have encountered error messages when launching the Sims4 game which previously I never had any issues with. I have contacted the EA help centre who has requested me to post my issue here on to seek further input.
When launching the Sims4 the error message received states " unable to start the sims4 is already running (ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51)"
I have checked the activity monitor on my Mac thoroughly and have been unable to locate any running games.
I have updated all sims games as well as deleted and reinstalled the game. I went ahead and deleted origin and downloaded it ones more. I have restarted my Mac several times and I have updated my MacBook as well.
The EA adviser has instructed me to do following:
Go to The Sims 4
Game Properties.
Click Advanced Launch Options.
Select When launching this game and choose The Sims 64 bit.
after following these steps, I have once more deleted the origin app of my Mac and reinstalled before trying to launch the game once more. I have received the same error message.
Is there anyone who has had similar issues? Or anyone who can further assist me?

There is no option to launch the game in 64-bit in Origin for Mac as there has only ever been a 64-bit version of the game for macOS, those instructions are for Windows. Are you playing in Windows in a Boot Camp partition? The error message is caused by the game/Origin not have full permission to access the Sims 4 folder. It is a well known and common error and is not a bug in the game.

It seems like many people are having the same problem as me. I am using the EA app and get this message every time I try to launch the game: "The Sims™ 4 is already running Go ahead and start playing. It's a good one. OK". I have been getting this message for over 2 weeks now and have completely run out of fixes. I've done just about everything and have spoke with tech support several times with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!
Things I have done:
Uninstall/Reinstall EA App
Uninstall/Reinstall Sims 4
Made sure TS4 was not running in Task Manager
Cleared EA Cache
Repaired game files
Several other misc. things while spending hours with Tech Support - none of which were successful.Thank you again in advance.
