Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

If you're experiencing this error message it doesn't mean your game is already running, the actual message itself is incorrect. It means The Sims 4 cannot access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 fold...

It's definitely the sims 4 - I guess that error message has been around for a while then.
It wasn't the graphics or anything like that. Something wrong with the files...
EA left me to hang and hung up on my multiple times until I got right pissed and fixed it by my damn self.
If anyone wants to know how I did it, I'll let em know. But I don't wanna help this whack site that couldn't help me...

@mlkhny Please let me know how to fix this! I'm having the exact same issue with the same error code that you mentioned earlier!! I know this is much later, but please let me know!!

    Trust! i moved the sims 4 folder onto my desktop and it creates a new sims 4folder and opens!! If you want to keep your mods, move that folder out of the folder on the desktop and moe to the new sims 4 folder, is wear it worked for me and these solutions usually don't work!
