I bought the game june 2016 and I've never been able to open it, since origin keeps telling me that "the sims 4 is already running" with the errorcode:
[ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]
I've already tried reinstalling origin and resetting it. I've checked my task manager and it is not running. I've gotten a new macbook (the touchbar one) and it still tells me that the sims 4 is already running. Help me, please

I have a Mackbook Pro, version 14.2.1 and before I updated my computer to this a couple of hours ago, Sims was opening. Now it is not and shows up with this error message when I try to open it. I play Sims 4 on an external hard drive. If somebody can help I'd appreciate that. I feel like it's hopeless.

"Random stuff on YouTube" always makes my heart sink when I see this, almost as bad as "I followed something on Tik Tok and now I've lost everything". But anyway...
I've merged your post into this ongoing 31+ page thread on this very common error message. See the solution on page 1 and fix your permissions in macOS.
