Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

If you're experiencing this error message it doesn't mean your game is already running, the actual message itself is incorrect. It means The Sims 4 cannot access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 fold...

@Bluebellflora I went to privacy & Security >Files and Folders> Sims 4
and my Documents and Downloads Folders are turned on. The problem is still happening...

    Please post screenshots showing the granted permissions. And also showing the Origin permissions too in Full Disk Access.

        Thanks! If your game is installed on an external drive it needs permission to access the external drive. Yours doesn’t.
