Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

Hi!

I've tried to play sims but every time it says: 

Unable to start:

 

The Sims™ 4 is already running.

I've redownloaded, restarted and even deleted and dowloaded the whole EA app again. I have also restarted my computer (MAC) and nothing has worked. Could someone help me?
