Update Keeps Cycling and Not Updating

I have a Mac and was required to switch to the EA App in May. When the June Sims 4 update came out, I was unable to update the game. I'm able to start the update and it goes from verifying > preparing > downloading> applying update > verifying > preparing > etc. While typing this, it's cycled through 4 times.

I have tried clearing the cache multiple times, this causes my game to crash, then the window to report an issue will freeze and crash. I have restarted my Mac, deleted, and re-downloaded the app, updating the app, repairing the Sims 4 (which causes the same cycling issues as the update and doesn't repair anything), and deleting my mods folder.

I was hoping with the July update, it would fix itself but unfortunetly it didn't. Please help, I miss my game.

  • Where is the game currently installed?  If it's in Users > your username > Applications, try dragging it to Applications > EA Games.  You'll need to move both the Sims 4.app and the "The Sims 4 Packs" folder.

If that doesn't help, how much free and total storage do you have on your Mac?  Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and select About This Mac > Storage.
