In the Origin app, right-click on the gear icon next to the Play button and select "Repair".

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When I open the game, I select an existing family to play with and then I hit the 'play' button. The game just continues to load. It isn't just taking a longer period of time to load. The game I selected to play never opens. lt just continues to load. It never finishes.
What happens when the bug occurs? After I select the game I want to play it just loads. I have to exit the screen and choose an option to force quit the game.
What do you expect to see? When I choose an existing family to play with, normally after I select the family and then select play the game will load for maybe 20 seconds and then the game will open where I left off.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

Update. Used the repair button in Origin and it worked!!
