In the Origin app, right-click on the gear icon next to the Play button and select "Repair".
I am having a similar problem, but with extended time loading to actually get into the game and play. It all the sudden occurred after I purchased a few expansion packs last night and this morning, the longer than usual time load. I contacted apple since I am playing on a Mac and they told me to shut down the computer, and I did multiple times. When I press the "play button" that allows you to contine the most recent game, it takes FOREVER to load. Help?

resetting origin
repair game
update game
restarting MacBook
nothing is working, I have endless load times, any suggestions 🤦🏽♀️
My game was having the same issue (latest version, MacBook Air)
repairing the game worked eventually,
I could previously get it to work by moving my save file out of the EA folder - but that doesn’t help with playing any previous saves of course!
I’ve tried it all twenty times and nothing is working. The sims team seem to completely silent other than telling people to repair, when repair isn’t working for a lot of people. Very annoying when you’ve spent hundreds on this franchise.
