Add-on is not downloading in EA Application

Hi everyone! I bought an add-on game (Outdoor Retreat) for Sims4 on cd keys (I had previously purchased on this platform and everything went fine). After I paid for the add-on I went into the ea app to enter the code. I typed it in, it dropped the game I had purchased and I clicked download. After that, unfortunately, all I saw on my screen was that I could buy (via the ea app) the add-on. 
When I launch the Sims 4, I see within the game that I own the add-on but have not downloaded it yet. And in the EA app there is no download option, only purchase...
any suggestions or tips? (I am playing on my laptop)
