My game doesn't even open on 64 bit even though it is a 64bit operating system. I try to run the game as an administrator and it tries to install the legacy edition which I don't want, given the number of bug reports I've seen from people. I have tried to repair the game via the origin launcher and it does not fix the issue. Are there other ways to fix this? I'm currently reinstalling the game to see if that will fix anything.
@butterpie24 My guess is your computer only has 4Gb (or less) of main memory. As expansion packs were released at some point the packs required a 64 bit operating system. My guess is the changes to the base game made it difficult (impossible?) to run in a 4Gb system. The new gaming systems usually come with 8Gb of memory if not 16Gb or more. Macs have been 64 bit only for some time and I have seen much talk about dropping support for 32 bit systems. Most new servers are now 64 bit only. Ubuntu (Linux) server is 64 bit only now. Can you upgrade your computer to 8Gb? There are other considerations to be looked at before investing in an older computer such as condition and processor.
