Big problem with the game after update

Please help me! What's wrong with the game after last update? The game starts in windowed mode. The selected settings are not saved. I can't see my mods/saves/tray files. Every time when i am in game i see the new daily reward feature and get 1st's day reward again and again. Also, the game freezes when trying to find something in the gallery, neither the task manager nor alt f4 helps, you just have to hold down the button on the system unit. It all happens with a completely vanilla game, without mods, saves, tray files. I cleared the game cache, made sure that a new The Sims 4 folder was created. I cleared the EA epp client cache. I reinstalled the game. I don't use OneDrive. I added the game files as an exception to my Antivirus Program. What should I do next?

  • @cashmere_caaattt  Did you specifically set an exception in your antivirus for TS4_DX9_x64.exe?  That's the executable for the DirectX 9 version of Sims 4; TS4_x64.exe now corresponds to the DirectX 11 version.  I ask in part because all the symptoms you've described can be caused by an antivirus or other software blocking the game's access to the user folder.

@cashmere_caaattt  Try clearing the EA App's cache, again if you have already, and repairing the game.  The option is under Game Library > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair.  Here's how to clear the cache:

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a new admin Windows account to see whether it helps.  The account needs to be local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 but won't have access to your saves or other user content, which is fine for the purposes of this test.

@puzzlezaddict I cleared the cashe and repaired the game again. I deleted The Sims 4 folder and game opens in full screen mode. I turned on script mods, made "Camera as the Sims 3" and saved this settings. After relaunching the game opens in windowed mode again. My account has been local always and i've never had this problem in the past. I use the same Antivirus as before. Also I didn't change any settings on my PC. I updated the game and that's all.

@cashmere_caaattt  Was this in a new admin Windows account or your current one?  I still think it's worth a test.

If the new account doesn't help, please disable your antivirus, temporarily, and test again.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
