Breakpoint error

Hi. My game just started crashing yesterday with a breakpoint error. I deleted all my saves (I don't get too attached to my sims) and removed all mods. The Game starts sometimes now, but will just close. I've tried repairing the game and uninstalling and reinstalling. What else can I do?

  • Janiya913  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

My son also uses my computer. He had something called Audacity on a Muse platform that was giving me an error. I have uninstalled that app and the game works, but won't save at all. I don't have any mods or cc in the game as of now.

  • Janiya913  Your dxdiag shows that OneDrive crashed at least once recently.  Do you have any use for it?  I ask because a OneDrive issue could also cause the game not to save if the user folder is inside the OneDrive folder.  To find out whether that's the case, open the game and find the full path to the folder:

If you'd like to get rid of OneDrive, or at least keep it away from your Sims 4 data, please see the relevant section of the first post of this thread:

Separately, please increase the size of your computer's page file, which is unnecessarily small and may have been at least part of the reason you were seeing breakpoint errors.  Disabling or removing the other software could have freed up enough memory to avoid the errors for now, but it would still be best to have a larger page file.  Here's how to change its size (option three):

Set the minimum to 12288 and the maximum to 16384, and restart your computer.
