Buttons frozen out of CAS

So I made a sim in CAS and when I finished them and clicked "Save and Play", the checkmark button then grayed out and the gallery thumbnail for the household is frozen forever while the sim still idly moves behind it. I've attached an image to try and better display what I mean. I've tested this multiple times and it happens every single time. I always have to end up closing the game with task manager. I have ZERO MODS OR CC. I even disabled mods/cc and tested again and it still happened. This only seems to occur when creating a new household. I'm still able to launch saves and play pre-mades and previous households i've made. This also occurs when importing sims from the gallery or when trying to leave CAS in the saves I have already.

    goodwasting​  Does this happen if you take the EA App offline before playing?  This would cut off your access to the Gallery, but the rest of the game would work as normal.

    If this doesn't help, try again but with your whole computer offline.  Sign into the EA App first, put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable.
