Can’t select traits
I’ve tried clearing both caches (with EA app and Sims folder), disabled all mods, and repaired twice, but the traits are completely missing. The game also keeps exiting entirely and crashing every 5 or so minutes.

For the crashing, does it still happen with your Mods folder removed? Please test if you haven't already.
If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
