I finally got into the game today only to find out I can't load my saved game. I keep seeing posts abouts mods and cc and to be honest I have no idea what these are. I play Sims 4 just to play and at this point I can't even do that. I did a repair and installed the game again. Can someone please help me? I have no idea how to move folders and have no idea what that even means
chillyw316 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.
To move a folder, you literally click and drag, that's all.
If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
So once again another update and here I go again not able to play! I was going to order an expansion pack but at this point why bother. The game was just down for over a week this month and now here we go again with the error on their end. Why bother having this game is EA is constantly updating and making it impossible to play

If so, please try the suggestions in the first post. If none of them work, let me know, and post a dxdiag. I can merge this thread with that one once you confirm it's the same issue.

I have no idea how to do any of that or even how to post a dxdiag. All I do is sign on under the app and play. I don't even know what mods and cc means. Is this something that EA does every month if so I'm just going to delete the whole game. This is frustrating dealing with these updates and errors every month
chillyw316 I would like to help, but if you can't or won't try to follow basic instructions, I'm not sure what anyone can do for you. Despite the text of the error, it's almost always caused by a system issue, not anything on EA's end. So you or someone else will need to be able to fix it.
