Cannot switch language to English
I had Sims 4 since 2014, and while it didnt bother me back then, it bothers me now very much, which is the language.
My native language is Czech, however i grown to dislike my own native language, on top of that, a lot of things in the game, from my own experience, is really difficult to traverse through or understand, specially with DLC-added related stuff. Not to mention, a lot of the in-game options or dialogs (like the job events, job side quests, other events, etc), are really difficult to understand, on top of that a lot of the jokey items make no sense in Czech or are just delivered poorly (This could just be me though).
To rub salt in the wound more, we recently moved, so we are in a completely different region, and yet, even after uninstalling, even after switching languages on the Origin launcher twice (From English -> Spanish -> English), it still only gives me the option of choosing: Czech, Polish and Russian.
Is there any way possible to change the language or do i just have to live with Czech language forever.
Note: I am aware about the game going F2P on October 18th, so my next attempt will be Steam version of Sims 4, however i am unsure how to transfer the DLCs from Origin to Steam or if it does it automatically, explanation on this would be very helpful too!
Ty for reading and Ty for responding in advance, if you do.
@DanikTheDoggo When you originally bought Sims 4, you received a language-locked version, and there's no way to switch to the global version without obtaining a new copy. For that, downloading from Steam once the game becomes free is your best bet. And yes, you can transfer your Origin-owned packs to a Steam install.
When you're ready, you'll need to uninstall the Origin version of Sims 4 and download the base game from Steam. Once it's installed, you'd then login to Origin and download your packs from there, and they'd work with the Steam base game. Keep in mind that you'll need to link your Steam and Origin accounts, if you haven't already, and run both launchers while you're playing Sims 4.
The only other step you'll want to take is to back up the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. This folder contains your saves and other user data, and doesn't usually get deleted during the uninstall process. But it's always best to have a spare copy of this folder just in case something goes wrong. The contents of the folder, both saves and anything else you've created or downloaded, will work equally well in your Steam install as long as you download all the packs you currently use.
