can't find a fix for computer freezing with TS4 because TS3 fix isn't working

I'm pretty sure I have updated the graphics card before..  but my problem is when I play the sims 4 for about an hour it freezes up on me and I can't use the mouse nor can I use the other function (the keyboard hot keys) in order to get out of the game its always requires me to do a hard boot?
