can't load in

since i updated my game yesterday, when i try to open my game, it just gets stuck on the blue loading screen. i can hear the music playing in the background, but my screen is frozen and my cursor won't move. the only way i can get out of the game is by force exiting through ctrl>shift>esc and if i go back into the game, the screen will have changed- but it's still frozen. i have no mods or cc, but i removed those files regardless. i've repaired the game twice, updated my laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and nothing works. i've even copied and pasted my game files elsewhere, deleted the originals, and put the new ones back. what should i do?

  • jadynos  When you say you've moved your game files elsewhere, does that mean moving or renaming the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts?  If not, please try this now, and don't add anything to the new Sims 4 folder the game creates.  Please also make sure your old files don't reappear in that location, as they could if you're using OneDrive or another syncing service.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
