thekaffeehaus The faulting module (ntdll.dll) is a fundamental component of Windows, one that is unlikely to be corrupt given that your computer works at all. It's much more likely that some other resource is trying to use it incorrectly. Still, I would start with a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
If this alone doesn't help, try doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of your graphics driver, as described here:
https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html
Use the newest driver Dell provides for your laptop, which you can find here:
https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/xps-14-9440-laptop/drivers
You of course only need the Intel video driver, dated May 19.
Once you've reinstalled the driver and restarted your computer, you can click This Device on the same driver download page and enter your service tag, then let the site check for other updates. Restart again if anything installs, then try to play, in both DirectX 9 and 11 modes.
If the game still won't open, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Sims 4, as described in the accepted solution of this thread (for a different issue, but the process is the same):
[CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 DLC shows as installed, won't load in-game | EA Forums - 11831673
If that doesn't help either, please post the same Reliability Monitor information.
