Can't Place Objects You Don't Own

Are you using mods in your game ?  If so, please remove them

If these are items that require a certain career level then you can't place them in a household that does not have a Sim in the required career at the required level. If they are in the house already you can move them around but not place others until you have a Sim of the required career level.

Any mods ? 

Have you tried repairing your game ?

I'm also having this problem after combining two households following a wedding. I don't use mods, but the house they moved out of was from the gallery. It was listed as No CC, but looked like mods were used in the build. I deleted the house, but if mods were added to my save, I don't know how to remove them. Some of the items that came from the house are career items that none of my sims have earned, but others are items my sim HAS earned. Basically, anything that came from that household is unusable now. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Any CC you don't have will be either removed or replaced with a default item.

As for career items you will not be able to place these if you currently have no one in that career with sufficient level to unlock them.

You can use an unlock cheat to place them.

Repairing my game files took care of the problem. Thanks for the reply!

Having a the same problem.   Silly question.  How do you repair the game file?

Rightclick the Game in origin game library and select Repair.
