Can't Play Sims 4 without internet

OK, so I bought game and got home only to realize you must install it with internet. Well I live in the country and don't have internet. So lugged heavy tower to husbands office, downloaded and played...

Didn't work for me.

I can get into Origin without being online but it then says I've not activated the game, which I can't do offline. Except I have. I played for hours yesterday

    The same thing happened to me. I used the internet to activate the game played for hours and hours, now my roommates have shut off the internet and I went to play. Could log into origin but couldn't play the game, said it needed to be activated online and I have already done that. Why can't I play without the internet? This is so frustrating...

      Do you have a laptop or desktop ? I do not know why it's happening to some.

      If you have a laptop, try if it works in airplane mode.

      Had you set Origin to offline mode before your roommates shut off the Internet?

      AS far as I know you need Origin to be set to offline mode before your Internet going offline.

        That's not exactly practical.

        As it happens I couldn't get online because my ISP were having issues nationally. Obviously I couldn't forsee that one. I could still log in to origin on offline mode. The game was just saying it needed to be activated, which it already has been.

      I also had the same problem & the same initial frustration, but after a few tries I also realized I had to log into my origin account, go to the "my games" menu & click on the game there to get it to launch ... which took a few moments to do so, but after a few minutes, it did finally work & haven't had a problem again so far. I believe the first time or two, I only put my pc to sleep after closing out the game, instead of restarting it. Since then and after playing it a couple of times that way, I restarted my pc again, and haven't had the issue since that time.
