OK, so I bought game and got home only to realize you must install it with internet. Well I live in the country and don't have internet. So lugged heavy tower to husbands office, downloaded and played foe sever hours.Got up today, hooked everything back up at home and went to play....only to be greeted with an Origin log in option. Game won't load otherwise.I thought EA said internet wasn't required for Sims 4? Is there a way around the log in to play?

Incorrect. EA says the game doesn't require an internet connection, and that is also incorrect.To test this, I had Origin Advanced Settings to "Automatic Exit" when I quit the game. I double-clicked the Sims 4 shortcut to launch the game, and this automatically launched Origin and logged me in (I had it set to auto-login). I then selected Origin > Go Offline. I then quit the game, which closed both the game and Origin. So far, so good.I decided I wanted to test the offline capabilities so I unplugged my ethernet cable from my router, disconnecting my computer from the internet. I then double-clicked The Sims 4 shortcut, which launched Origin. The Origin Login box popped up and said "Online login is currently unavailable". That's it. It just sat there and the game didn't launch. Closing the Origin Login box did nothing except close the program. The Sims 4 ABSOLUTELY is not playable if you're not connected to the internet.However, I will say (in fairness) that if you FIRST login when CONNECTED to the internet, select "offline mode" but keep Origin running, then disconnect from the internet, the game will launch. That', however, is not what EA says. They say you only need to connect to the internet the very first time in order to authenticate the game. From that point on an internet connection is not needed.Don't believe anyone that tells you an internet connection is not required.Edit: Did that sound angry? 🙂I stand corrected. I found the information by searching the internet. Here's how to play offline:When you start the game, Origin login will come up and say "Online login is currently unavailable". At that point put in your email/username and password ANYWAY, and the game will launch even though you have no internet connection.

Yes you can go into offline mode but you have to have an internet connection to log in Correct??? That is why she's asking you if she can play without internet. I have tried to play without logging into Origin but it won't let me I have to log in, and in order to log in you must have an internet connection then you can choose offline mode. Fix the issue. You should not have to log in everytime you want to play.

The same thing happened to me. I used the internet to activate the game played for hours and hours, now my roommates have shut off the internet and I went to play. Could log into origin but couldn't play the game, said it needed to be activated online and I have already done that. Why can't I play without the internet? This is so frustrating...

Didn't work for me.I can get into Origin without being online but it then says I've not activated the game, which I can't do offline. Except I have. I played for hours yesterday

I ordered my game on line played it for days but I was tired of paying a costly amount for cable phone and internet. I can't play Sims 4 it says you can't play offline but soon as you try to log into origin it says you are off line right now please try again later....I paid alot for this game. I registered online and got my download of the game before you could buy it. I want this fixed or I think a refund should be given...i would rather have the game. I have been a customer from the beginning and have spent over thousands of dollars on Sims 2 3 with all expansion packs bought for 2 different computer systems as well as Sims 4 so if someone could fix this so I can play my game and continue to be a customer that would be GREAT!

I have installed the sims 4 yesterday using the activation code and spent the afternoon playing the game. I then went to play the game the following day without an internet connection and once origin loads it claims I must go online to use my activation code. The game is also not present in my origin folder of owned games. This is extremely frustrating and this better not mean I have to spend another hour re-downloading the game and lose all my data. The game is still present within the files of my computer and I do not think this is an issue with the computer.

I don't have Internet and it is NOT automatically going into offline mode.

I've tried logging in to origin and says I have to be online for the first log in and I've logged in before when I did have Internet I've restarted and tried logging in several times but nothing it won't let me in offline

You must have to activate the installation with Origin through the internet the first time the game is played. That is the drm EA uses for TS4. The disc version has - "internet connection required for product activation". You will need an internet connection for patches and expansion packs. I can't believe nobody thought to use their smart phone. I don't think there is much bandwidth required unless you download something. Many people may be able to pick up a local hot spot. There are isp providers that use 4g wireless. Clear (which is owned by Sprint now is one that comes to mind). My Samsung S5 cell phone has a hotspot feature. Broadband dsl is not that expensive anymore. AT&T has been pushing Uverse (any speed $29.95/month). Broadband continues to become more available and cheaper. I've seen data plans as cheap as $9.95/month. If you use your smartphone, it goes with you where ever you go.

I'm having the same problem. Before it didn't matter. I would click the sims4 icon (without an internet connection). The origin login box would pop up and I would type in my password and then the game would start. But today I'm having no such luck. It wants a connection which I don't have at the moment because there's something going on with my provider.

Origin sucks I hate your company it is *, you can't play offline that's * and the only reason you can't is because sims has to run through * mf origin

You CAN play offline. You just need to activate it once, then put Origin in offline mode.
