@peterson720 If you have mods remove them and try the game. If the game starts then you have a bad mod.
- @BarnieClementine Hey, I know this is a few years too late but I tried this and there are no hidden files, every time I do it nothing changes in the folder, I even added some CC back and nothing changed.
Here's a little more info
I've been playing the sims with cc and mods for years, I'd been playing with my regular CC, I added in some new CC and then I got the error so I removed the new CC and tried again and the error still popped up. I know the issue isn't with my mods because this started over a month ago before the new update and I had played with the exact same mods the day before. I've already completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and the game works perfectly fine without CC, I've looked for hidden files and nothing was showing up, I updated my laptop and the game, and I have 8 GB of ram and over 400 GB of available storage. I've been having this issue for a month and I just want to play with CC again.
I play on windows 11 (this issue started when I was still on 10)
Acer Aspire 5 model:N19C3
Please help
@AgentButterfly25 Try moving the entire Mods folder to the desktop and allowing the game to create a new one. If that doesn't help, download a fresh copy of one mod or cc item confirmed compatible with patch 1.96 and add it to the new Mods folder, but nothing else, and test.
If that doesn't help either, let me know what antivirus you use.
- @puzzlezaddict This worked! thank you so much!
I've already tried moving the Mods folder, unistalling and reinstalling the game and EA App, deleting the cach and the same error still shows up. Don't know what else to do. Any advices?
@belachiara Please post the exact error you get, either a screenshot or the full text. Some of these errors look similar but are distinct.
