Can't redeem Sims 4 Expansion Pack Product Code.

I purchased a disc copy of the Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack from Amazon a few weeks back. Unfortunately, it's unplayable. Whenever I attempt to install it, I get a pop up saying the product code was already redeemed.

I've contacted EA with screenshots of my Amazon receipt proving I bought the game as well as images of the disc and case in my possession, but their only advice was to go back to the seller---which I did. The seller, however, said this is an EA problem and to contact them.

Basically, no one is willing to give me a redeemable code and I have an unusable game. I'd really like to have this pack and explore its gameplay features, but I can't afford to re-buying it, so is there anything I can do to get the disc I already own to work? Any help or ideas y'all have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

*I edited this after posting because I felt the original wasn't very clear. Sorry for any confusion🙂

  • @bpink1234  File a complaint with Amazon itself saying the seller sold you a defective product and refuses to make good.  It might help to include a screenshot of the code showing as already redeemed and a photo of the code itself, perhaps along with your chat with EA support.  Depending on where you live and whether you have Amazon Prime, you may be able to get a refund for the purchase.

There's no way to use the files from the disc you purchased.  Even if you were able to install the pack, the EA App would still block it from loading in-game since the App thinks you don't own it.

In the future, consider buying directly from EA during a sale.  Expansions are usually 50% off, at least in my region, with game and stuff packs having smaller discounts.

Was the box still sealed when you got it?

To redeem the code you have to type it in the EA app. When you hit enter, did it tell you at once that the code was invalid? Normally the app tells you, that the game is added to your library and you don't need to type in the code again when you want to install.

Make sure you typed the code right. Some letters letters look very similar and are easily mistaken for each other.

If it still says it's invalid, contact Amazons customer service and demand a fresh copy.

Yes, the case was sealed in plastic wrap (I would have returned it immediately had it not been). I did try redeeming the code through the EA app and also double-checked multiple times to make sure I was typing it correctly. But I keep getting a message saying the code I'm entering was already redeemed.

I contacted Amazon and they said to message the seller---so I did. After sending two messages, the seller responded saying they couldn't do anything, and I needed to contact the manufacturer of the game. By this point, I had already talked to an EA representative (via chat) and they told me they couldn't help either. Actually, the whole exchange was a little embarrassing because the rep was kind of rude. I guess they thought I was trying to scam the system, which hurt because that's the last thing I would ever do.

I'd still really like to have this pack, especially since I already paid for it. I realize I can't get a fresh or new code but I was wondering if it's, like, possible to extract the files from the disc and somehow play it that way? I'm not super tech savy, so I have no idea if this can be done. Or should I just give up and throw the game away?

Okay, I see what you're saying (about the files). When I opened the game today to give it another go, I saw it had folders on it and thought they might be accessible but wasn't sure. I will try contacting Amazon directly again and see if they'll help. I'm hoping they will since I have the screenshots.

Yeah, I'll never buy another EP through Amazon or any other retailer besides EA again.

Thanks again for your help. Hopefully, I'll get the refund and can try getting the pack during a sale.
