CAS Broken after Oct 22 Update

I took out all of my mods, cleared the cache, repaired the game, and even uninstalled/reinstalled. I cannot click on a sim in CAS, or edit. I can only rotate and modify the traits/likes/etc. I don't know what else to do at this point?

  • @mysoupsucks  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?

Does it help to switch the game to windowed mode?

If you have a Windows PC, please also try disabling any apps that come with overlays: Discord, Steam, etc.  Disable the EA App in-game overlay too; the option is under Settings > Application.

Separately, let me know whether you can click objects in-game.  There's a related issue with that right now, and I'd like to know whether you're affected as well.

    I'm on Windows 11.

    Windowed mode didn't change anything.

    I have all overlays disabled.

I cannot click on anything in game, not the sims or objects or the ground. When in build/buy, I also cannot place anything down. I keep getting the "cannot place outside of boundaries" error.

@mysoupsucks  Do you have any files in ConfigOverride, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4?  If so, please remove them.

If that doesn't help, or the folder was empty, please try switching to DirectX 9 mode, which should be an option in the graphics settings (in the lower-right corner) if your game is running in DirectX 11 mode by default.

If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a reply.
