Child Sim Won’t Go To School

I’m finally trying out the Get To Work expansion but I’m having an issue. I went to work with my detective Sim but now her child isn’t going to school while I’m with her mom at work! Anyone else have this issue or is there something I’m doing wrong?

Edit: I figured out you can switch controls to the child and make her go to school and then go back to the other Sim, but is there an easier way to do this?

    There are several options on the child's portrait. Check if the "go to school" option is there. If this option is not available, unfortunately, you have to switch from one to the other

    @kreatora Thank you for responding. When I hover over her portrait it just says she’s missing school but I can still access her stats (needs, occupation etc) but the Go To School option doesn’t do anything.
    I’m guessing I will just have to switch back and forth every time I want to go to work with my Sim.
