- crinrict5 years agoHero+@emiibelll Are you using mods/cc in your game ? If so, does it work without ?
Make sure you only use cc/mods that are compatible with your patch level. @crinrict yeah, i am using mods. would just assets like clothing affect it or is it just script mods?
I am having the same issue. My homescreen doesn't load properly, there are no links or anything its just a blank screen and then when I go to CAS I only get a white arrow, even without any mods or CC in my game. My computer is up to date and perfectly fit to run my game. It has been doing this for a week or more, since whenever the last game patch / update was.
I find that most UI and Swatch bugs I get in my game, after patches, are due to 'UI Cheats Extension Mod' or 'More Columns' mod, they are updated regularly, so if you have either of those installed, it is worth checking if they have an available update.
There was also a mod recently introduced that allowed users to change colours of hair, clothes, and more using the makeup customization tool that lets you edit hue, saturation, etc. If you are using that mod, it might also be that, but I'm not sure as I don't use that one personally.
- crinrict5 years agoHero+@emiibelll Mostly UI mods as pointed out above. Clothing would seem a bit off.
Are you using UI Cheat Extension or More COlumns ? UI Extension needs an update with almost every patch. i do actually have the colour swatch mod. i imagine it needs updating. i thought it was mc command centre but looks like its not.
@crinrict completely different issue now. my game just wont start.

HI @emiibelll
Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
- Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
- Tray Folder
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
- ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
- Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
