computer file suspicious

I discovered, maybe a few days ago,  this file in my Documents - (inside red block on picture).

When I read the file, because you can read it, it appears to be related to the the Sims 4 game?  I was told not to share of pic of that just yet.  I had an ethical hacker, licensed by the our goverment many years ago and still active.  They confirmed that it is reading something, it is code, doesn't appear macilious, but they did turn off the texts ability to converse with my computer, by removing permissions.   Now, it the date and size of the file will not change until I enable permissions again.  Also, this file has no attributes.  properties show it was created Feb 8th, 2025.   I did not create this file!!!!   LOL

not to be rude to anyone... but if you don't understand the above then your are not going to be able to help me understand what this file is... where it came from... and most importantly... what information is it gathering.   The ethical hacker thinks it's a sims 4 thing in the wrong folder or not actually supposed to be in my game?????     But until I know, it may not be safe to delete if it's a sims 4 things out of place , and if it's a trogan or something else, it's not one my bitdefender can identify.

Tagging 'updates' because this showed up in my documents folder, picture below, just this past week but was created on my system Feb 8, 2025.  don't know what to think about that either.  Just don't want to mess up my system which I use only for anything related to Sims 4 except for CC and MOD's and play solitaire!    Also:  I ended up doing a "repair my game" after an issue with Clement Frost/Father Winter I posted on this site.

puzzlezaddict  I read lots of your posts.... hope you don't mind that I tagged you.  This just might interest you???   I edited to get your attention!  (i'm so bad...  😜

ROFLOL Did I turn off permissions for burglars?     That would be hiliarious!!!!!!!

  • rujuta4me  Sims 4 should definitely not be placing files directly in Documents (rather than inside the Electronic Arts folder), and it shouldn't be able to read this file either.  Your white-hat hacker friend may be able to allow permissions again and then use Process Monitor, or a similar app, to see whether anything is accessing this file as you play Sims 4.  I'd be interested in the results.

I don't have this file anywhere on my Mac or on my Windows PC after running the game post-update, and I haven't seen any other reports of it appearing either.  So it doesn't appear to be a new feature, at least.

If you want to send me the file, or parts of it, feel free to upload it somewhere and DM me a link.

I need to set up one drive to share it, which I gladly will.  I said that I turned off the permissions and when I played my sims 4 game, I had no white flashing in the game, no issues with the calendar when opening it or changing a days activities, ran so smoothly that I was pleasantly surprised!

The file disturbs me greatly because I did not put in on my system, I don't know where it came from, is it needed for something microsoft put on my system since they just love to add junk to my system!   It must not be sims 4 but I am happy to share it with you since no one I know, has any idea what it is or where it came from!!!!
