Stegerain The crashes in your dxdiag look like what happens sometimes on high-end Intel CPUs that the motherboard may overclock by default. This is sometimes solved with a BIOS update, so look for an update for your board. I can't see which one you have from the dxdiag, but you can find the model printed on the board itself, among other places, and look for the Asus support page.
If that doesn't help, or you already have the newest version installed (yours is 1663), boot into BIOS and disable a CPU Turbo Boost setting that's usually called something slightly different on Asus boards. It'll have Turbo in the name and be under Advanced settings.
You didn't ask about Sims 3, but your newer CPU is the issue there. Here are some workarounds:
