Crib Disappeared as I Watched!

I hope this is the correct thread for this. I was in the midst of playing my game.  My Sim couple had twins, so I added a second crib for when it was needed. Well, the twins just aged up to infants. The Dad goes to place Twin A in his crib, and before Dad could even change the baby's clothing to sleepwear, as I was watching the second crib just faded away. I am growing concerned over just how unstable this game has become with the patch we got on January 14, 2025.  I do hope this nonsense won't continue. I've got another save in a separate game folder, since that save needs different mods than the save, I was just discussing.

I took the time yesterday, to painstakingly return mods, one at a time, mind you, to the Mods folder.  Once I got the period clothing for both males and females in the folder and all seemed well, I took family A into cas.fulleditmode and reclothed them. I saved and exited the game.  When I powered up again just moments later, after removing among other things, the localthumbcache.pkg.  Surprisingly, the mom was there on the Home Page, standing in her undies. Say, what?

So, I was bothered anew, when in my other game folder save, that crib just winked out. I am beside myself with what to do. I love this game, God only knows why, because I'm starting to doubt myself. I fear even adding any kits, some of which I'm very interested in, afraid it will further upset the delicate balance of the game mechanic. Please, somebody tell what the heck is going on. Oh, and I play on a really decent gaming notebook. Tons of space, RAM, etc.
