This is caused by your security software blocking access to a settings file in The Sims 4 folder. You should give the game access. Temporarily disabling protection while doing the change may also work.

@jpkarlsen how do I do that? After repairing my game my antivirus popped up with some message asking me to allow an origin file?) Or block it and I selected the "allow" option but nothing happened (by the way it's the first time my antivirus act up after an update)

Tried this out, turns out it was my AVAST antivirus. I have the free one and it also causes the issue as well. Just adding it to the first part of the fix which was the Ransomware issue, and adding sims and origin to the exception list to it and then going back in and re-enabling mods and then restarting did the trick! So happy! Very thankful for all the help on the forum!
