I have updated my game, and my mods. When I start up my game it tells me that my game has recently been Updated, and my mods need to be reenabled. I go in, click the boxes, exit the game only for the same message to pop up again, and again. I only use one mod, and its been recently updated. Please help.
Had the same problem. Go in your sim folder and check the game version file. It should be a text file, open it and write this "Version [copy the number from the home screen of the game]". This had it fixed for me.
Just like this, make sure the numbers are the exact same!

Have you checked if your antivirus or firewall has been set to not block changes to the user folder?
