[CURRENT ISSUE] Anti-Virus blocking User Folder (Screenshots/Gallery/Mods..)

hii, this is my first time posting here so i apologize if i mess something up/sound rude, i don’t mean to ^_^;

i haven’t played sims 4 since mid feb, with mods installed and all, and i just started playing again today. i updated the game (it wouldn’t let me start playing without doing so), and when i opened the game, it said “mods disabled bc of update, etc etc”. ok, cool, so i turn them back on in the settings, and restart the app. when i open it again, i get the same message. i’ve turned them on over and over again, restarted the game every time, and even restarted my computer to see if that would help. nope!

i tried moving the mods into the folder in batches as well, nothing worked - i even tried adding mods that were updated after the july 1st update (or whenever it was, sorry 😭) 

in the preview mods thingy under the “enable script mods” button, where the mods in the folder should appear, there’s nothing. even when there are mods in there, even mods updated yesterday, there’s nothing in there.

i haven’t seen any solutions to this issue yet, my brother recommended uninstalling and reinstalling it, but as a relatively new player i’m worried that’ll mess with my save data. i’d love any help possible, and i’d be extremely grateful regardless of whether or not it works.
