Hello! I've had this problem for the last few months. Recently, I've been attempting to fix it.
Methods I've already tried: Repairing the game, reinstalling the game, reinstalling the EA app, reinstalling both the game and the EA app at the same time, checking task manager and force quitting EA app, taking out my mods, clearing cache, restarting computer, restarted EA app, and running EA app/game as administrator.
Methods I have not tried due to not understanding: Check document folder in file and folders settings, adding .exe files for both game and EA app.
Does anyone have any ways to help my situation?

@V3nuzzzz Try pausing OneDrive syncing before launching Sims 4. Right-click the OneDrive (cloud) icon in the lower-right corner of the screen to see the option.
It sounds like you were reading directions for setting exceptions for Sims 4 and the EA App in an antivirus. If you only use Windows Defender, and Controlled Folder Access is enabled, here are instructions with screenshots:

You don't need to enable Controlled Folder Access if you haven't already. If you use a third-party antivirus, let me know which one.

This issue has been resolved. I cannot tell you how I resolved it because it fixed itself, but I no longer have this issue.
