laddy19 Please update the driver for your Nvidia graphics card, as the one you currently have is from early 2024. You can use the newest driver provided by Nvidia:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/results/257134/
Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart the laptop afterwards and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, is it possible OneDrive is present again after you reinstalled Windows? If your Documents directory is in the OneDrive folder again, that may be the current problem even if you solved the original issue by reinstalling the OS. To find out, you can right-click the Documents icon in a File Explorer window (the one with a special icon, not just a regular folder) and select Properties > Location.
Please also let me know whether you used any special characters in the Windows account name. While that's not a normal cause of this issue, it has been a problem for other games and briefly for Sims 4. By special characters I also mean accents that are normal in Slovak but wouldn't be found in English.
pplvtotargary3n I think the message about the Mods folder is coming from OneDrive. Restart your computer, then try renaming the Mods folder if you still can't move it.
YuraineW Your dxdiag is missing some info because it crashed while loading. Please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Click Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, click Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, click Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Try again to play, and if you get the same error, provide a new dxdiag.
