Hello, I am facing an issue I've only gotten tonight after updating to the most recent version of the game (written Nov 5, 2023). Attached I have photos of my file locations. The left is what it usually connected to and I've had no issues with in the past. The right seems to have "created" (some files date back to 2017) its own file location without any save data, as though I'm opening the game for the first time, and seemingly organized in a different way.
I do not use OneDrive and have already checked that nothing is in there. I have also done a virus scan (nothing found) and tried swapping the new file with my old one but the launcher does not recognize TS4 as installed when I do that. I play with a few mods and a lot of CC- is there any way I may be able to get my saves back and my CC/Mods? I have tried to merge the files but that did not work either.
Thank you so much for any input- I don't often pay attention to the files but something is certainly off about mine.

@BlobbyPotato The folder on the right contains the game's program files, not the user data, and you should just leave it alone.
The folder on the left has the incorrect file path: it should be Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, with no "My Games" in the path. Please check the correct path and see whether that folder exists and has new user data, for example a new Config.log with a timestamp that matches the last time you opened the game.
This is another way to find the folder the game is reading:

Point is, identify that folder, then put your user data there.
