I opened Sims 4 this afternoon, to find that all my packs and kits have loaded, as if I'd just bought them. They were purchased years ago, so why this has happened I don't know. I still have my saved file on my PC, but the game isn't connecting through EA/Origin.
So, do I start playing new games and start from scratch on everything... including clearing/demolishing, new buildings and houses I hadn't yet completed and not uploaded to the gallery, new characters that I'd created in CAS? Or is this going to be corrected by EA ASAP?

The same principle that applies to saves applies to your other user files as well.

Only a few problems with your theory here:
- I don't run on OneDrive... refuse to allow Microsoft access to saving any of my data online.
- My Save files are intact, just not accessed
- My Mods file is intact
- other apps recognise my Mods file existence.
I believe it's from EA's end, due to the fact that when I started play yesterday (actually, before I started playing, because it was a loadup that I noticed the 'new packs' list/display as if I'd never played before) is when it went 'belly-up'. I immediately checked the existence of my Saved and Mods files... still there, even to the correct file number/name.
From EA/Sims 4 end, the game isn't registering/seeing/picking up my files, even though they're there.

Here's proof...
Opened up the game today, didn't change anything... guess what? I got all my saved games and mods back. Nothing to do with OneDrive at all. Definitely an EA-thing.
Oh, and yesterday's gameplay that saved, because I had to restart a new game save... is gone!

And yesterday's gameplay, because I restarted a whole new game... is gone! Poof into thin air...
