I have tried:
1. Removing my all my mods
2. Removing Electronic Arts onto my desktop and then trying to launch but it still would not launch
3. Disabling my antivirus and then trying to launch
4. Did the virus scan by Malwarebytes
5. Reset permissions on Documents folder by entering takeown /F "C:\Users\username\Documents" with my username in username on command prompt
6. Tried to run as administrator
7. Restarted my laptop multiple times
8. Uninstalling The Sims 4 and reinstalling
9. Uninstalling EA and reinstalling
10. Repairing Sims 4 at least 3 times
11. Checking if it was running on Task Manager
12. Pausing OneDrive syncing and then trying to launch
Creating a new admin Windows account did work. It launched on the new account however I want to fix the problem on my main account. What else can I do to try and fix this?
@Lirys75 I've merged your post with the master thread for this error. In the first post on page one are a couple other suggestions you can try to get the game working in your current user account. One is to move the location of Documents elsewhere. The other is to manually change the permissions on the Documents folder; I linked to a post describing how to do this just below the takeown instructions.
If neither of these helps, I don't know how else to help with the issue, unfortunately. You could try moving only the Sims 4 user folder and creating a symbolic link to it, as described here:
But I don't expect that would work. Still, it's simple enough to try. Keep in mind that if you've moved the location of Documents and haven't restored it, you'll need to use the full file path to Documents instead of %USERPROFILE% as written in the guide.
