I have had numerous issues with my Sims4 game for the past week or so. It all started with the main issue that is when I try to open the game it says that it can't open because it is already running. I looked up online how to fix the issue and i cleared the cache, moved the sims4 folder to the desktop, out of the documents, ea games folder, then restarted my computer. This did let me open the game however it deleted all of my saves and characters I had in my library. Then after playing for awhile I saved and exited the game properly. However once I tried to play it again the same error message came up that it is already running. So basically any work I put in to creating a sim or sims and building a house or houses gets erased every time which is a waste of my time and beyond aggravating. However I tried moving the folder to the desktop and restarting the computer again in hopes it would work. Again it let me play the game but had deleted everything I had worked on but now it says Error failed to save. Error 0. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game through Steam, that didn't help. So I went in to the control panel and uninstalled it from there. It showed up twice, I assume because I have the Get Famous extension pack, both uninstalled and then again I restarted my computer and had to wait again for it to download and install. Still can't save the game and have various other issues I'll attach a screen shot of. Please help this is driving me crazy and I don't know what happened it was working just fine. Now I feel like it's a big waste of time and money. One screen shot is just of the packs and addons I have that go along with the main game. Thanks for any help you can give me in advance.
Also yes I have ran my antivirus software, which hasn't changed in years and never caused an issue before. However I'm just letting you know no viruses were found or anything like that. Also it only let me attach 3 screenshots and I have one more to attach so here that is too. thanks again.
@Chelsalicious18 I've merged your posts with the master thread for the "already running" error. Please try the other suggestions in the first post on page one.
Your antivirus may in fact be the issue here. Sims 4 has a new executable for the DirectX 9 version, as of the most recent patch (1.107), which a number of antivirus programs have flagged since its appearance.
