Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Launch Game
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 13.01.24 05:00pm
Summarize your bug I HAVE TRIED THE FORUMS' SOLUTIONS. I was trying to open Sims 4 after a while of not playing and saw that the Origin app was no longer for Windows, no problem. I unistalled that and installed the EA app. Once I installed the EA app, I could not open Sims 4. It says "Unable to start: Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged..." I have attached the error I am getting for full context but I see this is a common error, so I'm sure you know what I am referring to. I have tried everything I saw on the forums and nothing has worked, I tried clearing the cache of my computer as well as the EA app, repairing the game in the app, disabling antivirus while repairing so the TS4_x64 file could be installed (which it is), I checked the install and repair logs and all seem fine, uninstalling and reinstalling the game as well as the EA app while turning my PC on and off. Nothing has worked. I reached out to the people in the live chat. They said they reported the bug and tried to give me solutions, nothing worked there either so they sent me here.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? try to launch the sims 4 after uninstalling origin from a windows PC and installing the EA app.
What happens when the bug occurs? I just get an error popup saying it cant start the game.
What do you expect to see? not sure what this means, but i expect the game to open.
I need some help here.

Ive just updated the game, and now it is opening and working. Not sure if it was the update or anything I did specifically.

@cameraonhold Updating the game repairs it, so possibly. It's also possible that something else on your system, for example an antivirus, updated and no longer blocks or interferes with Sims 4, but it took updating the game to fix any outstanding issues.
